It’s easy to make your own “build a beetle game” and it’s a really good way to learn about turn taking as well as recognising dice patterns.
All you need are some beetle body parts like the ones in the photo below. These can either be items you find outdoors or paper shapes.
You will need to roll a 6 for a body, 5 for a head, 4 for antennae, 3 for eyes, 2 for a nose and 1 for legs. The winner will be the first one to complete their beetle. You can play with any number of people but just make sure you have enough beetle parts.
As you get better at recognising the dice patterns, try to identify the number you have rolled without having to count the dots.
