We welcome parents and other family members in school. Parents are a child’s first, and most important, educators and staff work closely with them to provide the best possible education for their children.

Regular events for parents/carers are offered in nursery : family learning workshops on various aspects of the nursery curriculum; stay and play sessions; parenting courses; special groups for bilingual families; PEEP courses.

In Autumn 2011, Dr Bells Cookschool@Stanwell was officially opened by famous local chef Martin Wishart. Throughout the year, parents/carers can come along and develop their cooking skills in our state-of-the-art cook school kitchen.

We work closely with many professionals involved with children and families in the Leith area: child and family centre staff, speech therapists, health visitors, social workers and educational psychologists. We have especially close links with Dr Bell’s Family Centre www.drbellsleith.org.uk which offers a range of support and advice to families in the area, and Multicultural Family Base, which offers support to bilingual and BME families.
